About Us – or what makes a dog more vizsla

Dogs have been always members of our family. Already from our childhood we have had some kind of pets.

First a terrier mix, then a beagle whose name was Max. Ha was very lovable, cute dog, but he become epilepsy at his age of six. Despite all care and medicines it shocked us when during one of the epileps attacks he die d in the car on the way to the vet at his age of eight. We have lost a member of our family.

The space, that he felt was very overwhelming. Everything around us reminded us to Max. In order to ease our grief there was no question to get another dog. We have read a lot of literature and dog standards and decided that the best choice for us is the short haired Hungarian vizsla. Beside his features and personality in addition mainly his elegance captured us.

Learning from Max’s health problems we decided to buy a puppy with pedigree and origin papers. We bought our first vizsla in January 2011. His name is Siómenti-Mayerházi Csende “Foxi”. At that time Foxi was three month old. Foxi has found the way to everybody’s heart at the first time. We got to know of the vizsla ture trip at the end of 2011. We went to our first trip at the beginning of 2012. Foxi felt great himself. We went to more and more trips, so we made a lot of friends with vizsla. Foxi was very-very happy with the other dogs, so we decided to expand our family with another vizsla. We turned to Foxi’s breeder again where we met the 2,5 month-old Siómeti-Mayerházi Happy.
This moment was mutual love at first time. When we brought Happy from the breeder we accompanied her to a special Hungarian vizsla dog show. The event’s atmosphere captured us immediately. So, we decided to go with Happy to a national dog show, to try ourselves. At our first dog exhibition we surpassed our every expectation and Happy has entered to the Baby Best in Show program.

As the time passed, we have known the Hungarian short haired vizsla standard and type, so we decided to deal with it seriously. We started to go to a dog instructor to learn hunting, obedience and ring behavior. At the first few dog show we took only Happy, but after is Foxi also become an active participant too.
We have got a lot of beautiful memories, experience and many great results in the recent years. In 2013 we decided to expand our family again with Helvécia Vadász Eper and Helvécia Vadász Egres, her nick name is Lili. We expanded our family again with Especial of Skyrocket “Momo” and Exclusive of Skyrocket “Sissy” in 2014. Our vizslas are primarily family members.

Our first litter arrived at the end of 2015. The parents are Lili and Szikra of Skyrocket. All of the puppies are so nice and healthy. We start the puppies name by "S" after our kennel name Scarbantia Saltus. All of the puppies live in very warm hearted homes with their families.

We have to point out, Especial of Skyrocket "Momo"'s results, who become Junior European Winner and best of breed in Oslo 2015 handled by Francesca Scorza and Open calss winner, CC and also best of breed in Birmingham Crufts 2017 handled by Bence Kántor . This was a monumental moment becasause this was the first time get the best of breed title a hungarian breeded and owned vizsla in the Crufts history. Momo has a lot of other beautiful champion titles and best in show results.
He had been prepaired to the hunting exams with Katalin Noveczki and take first price on water field exam.

We can recommend with warm heart this breed for those people who would like an excellent partner with very warm heart, affectionate and loyal personality.
